Documenting the Movement: Pushing Social Change through Social Media, POSTPONED to 3/29

The power of social media is hard to dismiss. What once seemed like a trivial way to keep in touch with friends has become a force for social change, shining light on subjects previously dismissed, deepening conversation, and empowering global citizens to unite and demand change in a multitude of ways. Social media as a medium for connecting, organizing, and communicating is spreading nods to justice more powerfully than ever before.

On March 15, Philly NetSquared is joining forces with POWER and Media Mobilizing Project to bring you a training session on educating and empowering one another through today’s technology and online platforms.

You will gain a better understanding of:

  • How to use social media outlets as impactful platforms beyond personal use
  • The different methods and resources available through various social media outlets that allow for effect and influence within movement work
  • How to use social media to join conversations about local and international social justice issues

Date/Time: Wednesday, March 29th; 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Location: Friends Center (1501 Cherry St, Philadelphia, PA 19102)
