Tuesday, October 7, 2008: 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM

The next Net Tuesday is this week!   It will be October 7,  from 6:30–8:30 PM at Independents Hall, the coworking place at 32 Strawberry Street in Olde City.

This Net Tuesday is looking better and better.  The focus of the evening will be “peer to peer social change sites” — those websites which enable individuals, non-profits and others to provide convenient, grassroots support for one another’s causes.

  • How do these sites work, and what can they do?
  • How can you or your organization use them to attract and engage supporters?
  • What’s coming next?

The next Net Tuesday gathering will be on October 7 @ 6:30–8:30 PM at Independents Hall (the co-working space at 32 Strawberry Street in Olde City).

This month’s Net Tuesday will focus on “peer to peer social change sites”. These are the sites which enable people and organizations to list their cause, and then help others to engage with those causes with their time (e.g., Volunteer Match), money (e.g., Kiva and other microphilanthropy sites) or other support (e.g., change.org). Many of these social change platforms are aggregated in SocialActions, created by Montreal’s Net Tuesday organizer Peter Deitz.
